Wild (2025)
Edith Doove:
I wouldn’t call myself a photographer, but someone who takes relatively quick snapshots with my iPhone from time to time. My photos are everyday encounters between the human and non-human, showing that these are actually quite extraordinary, mysterious, weird, and beautiful. Their titles come up just as spontaneously.
I took this photo of this beautiful, deep purple hollyhock, which I called ‘Wild’, one day at the beginning of August, on my way to the market. It caught my eye because of its colour in connection with the blue details of the hooks and the pane against the beige wall. When I walk to the market now, this spot catches my attention: I’ve noticed the hollyhock withering away and now wait for it to come back.
