Why Models (against AIDS) has become Models for a Better World
To continue our prevention efforts towards young people, Designers against AIDS (DAA) decided to found ‘Models against AIDS’ in 2011. The organisation operated under the wings of DAA and informed girls and boys who dream of becoming a model about healthy living, including safe sex advice.
After the COVID pandemic started, we decided to widen our range of issues, as mental health, gender issues and Climate Action have become more important than ever before, so we joined the project Beauty for a Better World (beautyforabetterworld.org) and started Models for a Better World- as role models, models can certainly influence their followers to put small steps towards that better world.
As we want to reach out to young people worldwide, we’d like to get as many models and agencies as possible involved to lead to world to positive change. Spokesperson for Models for a Better World is Belgian top model Hannelore Knuts.
